Camp writing

Wednesday 24 May

As we crossed the bridge to the high ropes
I felt a tingle run through all my spine. When we got there I laid my eyes on it in fear. It looked terrifying. Straight away I thought I couldn't do it.

Harry started, I belayed and Sam was the backup belayer. I thought I would drop Harry. Finally it was my turn. My heart was pounding. I started to climb up the shaking ladder. I was shivering as much as I could. I felt like I was on top of the world. I didn't want to look down but I was so tempted so I did. I was at least five meters off the off the ground I trembled in fear. I couldn't go on so I went down slowly.

After it I was proud of myself because it was harder then I thought but I still did it.

  1. Thomas - I love your first paragraph. It created a real sense of fear and helped us feel what you were feeling at the high ropes. (Mum)
